Moon Cycle Energy and Puja

Our deep kinship with the Earth connects us on many levels, and one place that
becomes very apparent is in the water we both carry. About 70% of the Earth
is covered by water, and we contain a very similar ratio of water in us as well. The heart and brain also contain a similar water percentage, and on average, the human body does too, depending on an individual’s weight and sex.  The salinity of the water in our bodies is almost precisely that of the ocean as well. So, it’s not surprising that even as the Sun and the Moon significantly affect the ocean tides, we too are affected by the motions of the heavenly spheres.

The ratios of the Moon and the Earth are sacred and repeated again and again throughout the body’s proportions. Many great thinkers have understood this sacred ratio and used it in inventions and many great works of art. Sacred too, are the cycles brought about by the motions of these enormous gravitational masses through the universe.

Both Moon and Sun comparisons have been made throughout the centuries to the masculine and feminine aspects of creation. Women follow a monthly cycle that is very close to the moon’s same cycle in both days and timing. It’s been said that there is a deep creation cycle that plays out in the interconnected consciousness of the planet over this same monthly cycle and the seasonal cycle of our “masculine” sun. It should then be no surprise that we have an opportunity to ride our own creation cycles that follow closely these same cycles of moon and sun.

In the distractions of our busy lives, we fail to recognize the influences that the massive energies of the moon and the sun can have on our experience. A cycle of pujas has been created to take advantage of these heavenly currents. These ceremonies are performed to harness the huge momentum of these heavenly currents on behalf of the great beings and teachers who can have a large physical impact through the technology of a puja.
