Geography and Meditation in the Los Angeles area

A favorable geography for meditation in Los Angeles, or anywhere

else for that matter is said to be a steep slope descending
down to the East or sometimes North. Though this is only one
component, many  great temples in India and the East have
been constructed using an understanding of the science of
Vaastu, a very deep and helpful energetic science of
the sacred geometry of our homes and structures.

The South West Coast of the US has been holy ground for more than
40,000 years and through a number of civilizations. The ground beneath
the Los Angeles area is very potent as result of the consciousness that
has historically been positioned here. The land has recieved great deal
of blessings over time. Many have noticed that a good number of
saints and great beings are drawn to the region even today.

The vedic study of Vaastu might shed some light on the pull. The
Vaastu of the United States, and in fact the planet as well, makes
Southern California a location where the rest of the country and
even the world can be more easily influenced. Energetically, Vaastu
would predict that Southern California would be one of the easiest
places to influence the consciousness of the rest of the planet.

“The space is different there. For one thing, the country was first settled
in the East, and there are people who sunk their roots very deeply there
and have lived there for twelve generations. Those who have a little bit
more of a pioneering spirit, those who are the early innovators, they
moved west. There are certain, I suppose, remaining genetic
predispositions to innovation here in California. California has a
bit of an unstable environment, with the fault lines, earthquakes
and so forth. It takes a certain kind of person who can deal with
that and live here.

There is always a frontier, let us put it that way, in physical systems.
In the United States, that frontier has always been and continues
to be California.”

- Dr. John Hagelin, Harvard-trained research physicist and pioneer of meditation study
